Best Bet

Our Kalgoorlie Horse Racing Tips for Thursday’s meeting.

The feature race is the Listed Hannan’s Handicap (race 7).

Pedal Power (Kalgoorlie Race 4 No.1)

This four-year-old Nicconi gelding resumed for 0.8 lengths 3rd over 1200m at Kalgoorlie on 4 September, then we made him our Best Bet last outing and he won by 2.6 lengths over 1300m at Kalgoorlie on 18 September. Rates highly and will be hard to beat.

Let’s Galahvant (Kalgoorlie Race 7 No. 9)

Although this four-year-old is the youngest runner in the Hannan’s Handicap this year, and is having his first attempt at Listed level, I’m expecting him to run well. He overhauled the leaders late for a 0.8 length win at Belmont on 3 September, then was held up in the straight but surged home late for a 0.6 length win over 1400m at Belmont on 17 September. He has won 7 of his 14 races, is looking for a hat-trick here and looks a great each-way chance.

$8.50

Best Lay

Edward’s Choice (Kalgoorlie Race 1 No. 5)

This three-year-old All American gelding trained by Peter Fernie is the early favourite in this Maiden set weights race over 1100m. He was wide throughout and held up near the 200m when 6 lengths 9th over 1200m at Belmont on 25 June, then pulled up lame when 9 lengths 6th over 1200m at Kalgoorlie on 10 July. Has had an 11 week let-up but is too short for me in such an open maiden.

Key Comments The rail is true. The best bet can land us a win in the first. Best Bet Pee Dee (Quirindi Race 2 No. 1) Has been sound in both efforts to date and this race lacks any depth. The 5th last start is better than it reads on paper and that is in a race much harder than this. Goes in the mix here. Check odds on SmartB Analyst: Bhakti Dave Each Way

Horse Racing Tips: NSW Tuesday 30th April 2024

Key Comments A big 10 race card takes place. The rail is in 3 metres. The track usually suits those who can sustain a long run to the line. That will suit the best bet who loves racing here and comes up later in the day. Best Bet Flame Tree Star (Grafton Race 1 No. 1) Has a booming turn of foot and while Swanston doesn't have the easiest pattern to catch, this track does suit and that shows with the 9 placings
