This four-year-old mare Blackfrairs gelding trained by Simon Miller has five wins and two places from seven starts. He drew clear in the final 100m to win by 1.04 lengths over 1400m at Ascot on 16 January, then took over at the 150m and kept going for a 1.14 length win over 1400m at Ascot on 30 January. He has drawn the rails here and looks the likely winner.

Ginger Flyer (Pinjarra Park Race 5 No. 3):
This four-year-old Gingerbread Man mare has two wins and six places from 10 starts. She resumed from a 22 week spell with an easy 2.38 length win over 1400m at Ascot on 9 December, then led but was beaten in the final 100m for 0.74, 1.43 lengths 3rd over 1406m at Pinjarra Park on 6 January. She has placed at all three starts at this track and looks a good each-way bet again.

Best Lay
Bogart (Pinjarra Park Race 3 No. 1):
This four-year-old Redoubte’s Choice gelding is the early favourite in this Graduation handicap (1MW) over 1400m. He finished 2.16 lengths 2nd over 1800m at Ascot on 24 October, then was blocked late and finished 3.46 lengths 9th over 1400m at Ascot on 21 November before spelling. Resuming after 11 weeks he tends to either win or be unplaced first-up but this is a tough race and I don’t think he can win.

That will suit the best bet who loves racing here and comes up later in the day. Best Bet Flame Tree Star (Grafton Race 1 No. 1) Has a booming turn of foot and while Swanston doesn't have the easiest pattern to catch, this track does suit and that shows with the 9 placings
