This four-year-old gelding has had four wins and a place from five starts. He resumed after 17 weeks and looked the winner at the 200m but faded late and was run down for 0.3, 0.6 lengths 3rd over 1000m at Belmont on 1 August, then had a good battle with the leader from the corner and took over at the 100m for a 1.2 length win over 1200m at Belmont on 15 August. Looks the one to beat.

Excellent Dream (Belmont Race 5 No. 1):
This four-year-old gelding has had three wins and four places from eight starts. He won by 0.8 lengths over 1000m at Belmont on 22 July after getting bumped, then found the winner too strong when 0.3 length 2nd over 1000m at Belmont on 12 August. Two of his wins were at this track and he is worth a modest each-way bet.

I Am Groot (Belmont Race 2 No. 3):
This four-year-old gelding is favourite in this 1600m maiden race. He was well-backed and finished 3.9 lengths, 0.4 lengths 3rd over 1300m at Northam where he was vetted with heat stress, then he started favourite and was gunned down late for 0.5 lengths 2nd over 1300m at Northam on 13 August. He will probably place again and is not a value runner.
