The Velvet Queen | (Belmont Race 2 No. 3)
She was a moral beaten last start when having to be taken back to last from a wide draw. She finished within a length of her rival in this race Zephyra, who had a much kinder run up on the pace. She meets Zephyra 1.5kg better off for a 0.9 of a length defeat and they have both drawn barriers 1 and 2, so expect The Velvet Queen to be a lot closer in the run. She gives the indication that being up to a mile will suit and this is the race to get a win on the board for this preparation.

I am willing to forgive the last start performance from this gelding as he was up in grade on the quick backup. He comes back in grade, gets his regular jockey back on, and is drawn ideally to get a dream run throughout.
