Our Ascot Horse Racing Tips for Saturday’s meeting. The feature events are the Lex Piper Stakes (race 4) and the Ascot 1000 Guineas (race 6).
Pink Carats (Ascot Race 2 No. 5)
Pink Carats has won his last two starts at this same track and distance giving him a career record of three wins and four places from nine starts. This four-year-old I Am Invincible gelding trained by Simon Miller wound up gamely taking over late for a 0.8 length win over 1000m here on 15 January, then overhauled the leader in the final 100m for a 0.7 length win over 1000m on 29 January. Rates highly and should make it a hat-trick.

Each Way
Henchard (Ascot Race 4 No. 7):
With two wins and two places from his four starts, this Blackfriars gelding has started his career well. At the end of his first campaign he angled between runners and hit the line gamely for 0.6 length 2nd in a 3YO Plate over 1600m at Belmont on 18 September. Resuming from a 20 week spell he came from last for a 0.1 length win over 1400m at Belmont on 9 February. Looks a nice each-way bet here in the Lex Piper Stakes.

Bruce Almighty (Ascot Race 8 No. 5):
This six-year-old Playing God gelding trained by Neville Parnham is the early favourite in this RTG 72+ Handicap race over 1600m. He edged ahead but the leader fought back and he finished 0.3 length 2nd over 1600m at Ascot on 29 January, then ran home well for 1.9 lengths 3rd over 1400m at Ascot on 12 February. Always runs well but doesn’t win out of turn and I’m prepared to risk him here.
