Our Ascot Horse Racing Tips for Saturday’s meeting.

Galactic Storm (Ascot Race 6 No. 4)
With two wins and a place from three starts, this Street Boss gelding from the Adam Durrant stable has started his career well. After a debut 3rd at Geraldton he wound up steadily to take over late for a 0.5 length win over 1500m at Ascot then was spelled for 20 weeks. He resumed for a 0.5 length win over 1200m at Pinjarra Park where he ran on strongly despite the saddle shifting. Looking for a hat-trick and will be hard to beat.

Each Way

State Attorney (Ascot Race 7 No. 5)
This seven-year-old Haradasun gelding trained by Michael Grantham has five wins and 16 places from 42 starts. He took over late for a 0.7 length win over 1200m at Ascot on 19 March, then wound-up gamely but missed by a tiny margin in a head bobber over 1000m at Ascot on 9 April. Up to his favourite distance and drawn barrier 1 to do no work he looks  a great each-way bet.

Best Lay

Premium Choice (Ascot Race 8 No. 8)
This four-year-old I’m All the Talk gelding is the early favourite in this Westspeed Platinum Autumn Handicap for 4YOs & up over 1200m. He was badly blocked and held up several times before 1.4 lengths 2nd over 1000m at Ascot on 26 March where he should probably have won, then came from last for a length 5th over 1200m at Ascot on 9 April. Has been favourite at his last 3 starts without saluting and I won’t be on him again until he actually wins a race.

Key Comments The rail is true. The best bet can land us a win in the first. Best Bet Pee Dee (Quirindi Race 2 No. 1) Has been sound in both efforts to date and this race lacks any depth. The 5th last start is better than it reads on paper and that is in a race much harder than this. Goes in the mix here. Check odds on SmartB Analyst: Bhakti Dave Each Way

Horse Racing Tips: NSW Tuesday 30th April 2024

Key Comments A big 10 race card takes place. The rail is in 3 metres. The track usually suits those who can sustain a long run to the line. That will suit the best bet who loves racing here and comes up later in the day. Best Bet Flame Tree Star (Grafton Race 1 No. 1) Has a booming turn of foot and while Swanston doesn't have the easiest pattern to catch, this track does suit and that shows with the 9 placings
