Our Ascot Horse Racing Tips for the weekend.
The feature races are the G3 Gimcrack Stakes for 2YO fillies (race 8), Perth Stakes for 2YO C&Gs and the Grandstand Cup over 1500m (race 6).
Magical Dream (Ascot Race 2 No. 1)
This three-year-old filly trained by Grant and Alana Williams has four wins and two places from seven starts. She resumed after 9 weeks with a 1.03 length win over 1200m at Ascot on 16 January where she had good final 400m sectionals, then she finished 1.75 lengths 2nd in the Western Australian Breeders’ Classic over 1400m at Bunbury on 6 March. This is an easier race, and with the 2kg claim for apprentice Laqdar Ramoly she should return to the winners circle.

What About Moses (Ascot Race 5 No. 10):
This five-year-old Playing God gelding has won three of eight starts this campaign and has a great record at this track. He took over at the 200m and held on for a 0.17 length win over 1600m at Ascot on 20 February, then kept coming after a tough run for 2 lengths 4th over 1400m at Bunbury on 6 March. He looks a great each-way bet back at Ascot.

Rivalry Galore (Ascot Race 9 No. 6):
This five-year-old Trade Fair gelding is the early favourite in this BM 66+ Handicap over 2200m. He tried hard when 0.26, 0.28 lengths 3rd over 1800m at Ascot on 27 February, then kept coming steadily when 2.13 lengths 4th over 2000m at Bunbury on 6 March. In nine previous outings to Ascot he has only ran one place so I don’t expect him to win here.
