Our Ascot Horse Racing Tips for the weekend.

Race 5 is the Group 2 Ted Van Heemst Stakes over 2100m and race 7 is the Listed Starstruck Classic over 1600m.

Midnight Blue (Ascot Race 6 No. 1)
This four-year-old So You Think gelding has three wins and five places from 12 starts. He ran on strongly for a 0.75 length win over 2200m at Ascot on 21 November, then ran on strongly to just miss and finish 0.08 length 2nd over 2200m at Ascot on 5 December. He likes this track and distance, William Pike goes back on and he should win again.

Serenity Bay (Ascot Race 7 No. 8):

This five-year-old mare trained by Grant and Alana Williams has five wins and eight places from 13 starts. At the end of last campaign she ran on for 1.03, 0.6 lengths 3rd over 1400m at Belmont on 15 August, then resumed after 14 weeks for 0.27 lengths 2nd in the Listed Carbine Club of WA Stakes over 1400m at Ascot on 21 November. She has never been out of the trifecta and looks a good each-way bet here.

Best Lay

Miss Frost (Ascot Race 8 No. 1):
This five-year-old Frost Giant mare is the early favourite in this Fillies and mares benchmark 66+ over 1200m. She ran on strongly for 0.09, 1.11 lengths 3rd over 1000m at Ascot on 31 October, then took over at the 150m and won by 0.47 lengths in the Listed Jungle Mist Classic over 1200m at Ascot on 21 November. She carries an extra 5kg here and others are better value.

Key Comments The rail is true. The best bet can land us a win in the first. Best Bet Pee Dee (Quirindi Race 2 No. 1) Has been sound in both efforts to date and this race lacks any depth. The 5th last start is better than it reads on paper and that is in a race much harder than this. Goes in the mix here. Check odds on SmartB Analyst: Bhakti Dave Each Way

Horse Racing Tips: NSW Tuesday 30th April 2024

Key Comments A big 10 race card takes place. The rail is in 3 metres. The track usually suits those who can sustain a long run to the line. That will suit the best bet who loves racing here and comes up later in the day. Best Bet Flame Tree Star (Grafton Race 1 No. 1) Has a booming turn of foot and while Swanston doesn't have the easiest pattern to catch, this track does suit and that shows with the 9 placings
