Western Empire (Ascot Race 8 No. 4)
This four-year-old Iffraaj gelding trained by Grant & Alana Williams has five wins and four place from 10 starts. He was a 0.7 length winner of the Listed Melvista Stakes over 2200m at Ascot on 27 March, then a 0.8 length winner of the Group 2 WATC Derby over 2400m at Ascot on 10 April. Resumes from a 27 week spell and has won both trials. Looks well placed here in the Group 3 Northerly Stakes and should win.

Regal City (Ascot Race 2 No. 7):
This five-year-old City Place gelding trained by Peter Fernie has three wins and three places from 17 starts. He won by 0.5 length in a Class 2 Handicap over 1760m at Kalgoorlie on 30 September, then won by 1.77 lengths over 2100m at Kalgoorlie on 2 October. A genuine contender that looks a good each-way bet.

Image Keeper (Ascot Race 3 No. 2):
This five-year-old Scandal Keeper gelding trained by Brock Lewthwaite has three wins from six starts and is the early favourite in this four-years-old and upwards No Metro Wins Handicap over 1200m. At the end of last campaign he finished 2.2 lengths 6th over 1200m at Ascot on 1 May before a 20 week spell. He resumed for 2.6 lengths 6th over 1300m at Belmont on 18 September and ran 3rd in a trial on 4 October. There are some handy horses in this race and others offer better value.
