SPARKLING ONE is airborne. She’s going super and I think can go one better 2nd up. She laid in late when at top speed and half-cost herself the race. I think at the current prices, she’s over the odds. Rated Price – $5.00

Hellfire Eagle (Devonport Race 4 No. 4):

Limited horse that is 1 win from 11 career starts. Comes out of a really slow run race, where he got every conceivable and now cops a negative jockey switch against some better horses. Can’t get him anywhere near the price available, and keen on a few other runners in the market – have to oppose.

Lay HELLFIRE EAGLE for 1 unit at < $5.00

MISS DELIA looks the one to beat off its previous runs, but strange placement here.

R2 1150m Maiden

Tough race with a mixture of unknowns, and slow horses. I think NIGHT MISSILE was ridden poorly last prep, and with Darmo going straight on from an inside draw can outperform it’s price.  Camp is airborne, and has trialled well prior to resuming – maybe can put it together this prep? Rated Price – $10.00

Back NIGHT MISSILE for 0.5 units WIN and PLACE at $12.00/3.00+

R3 1650m Maiden

I really want to step into SOUTHERN WIND here. Horse is low key flying! Stable change looks to have improved him, I think we might get a price and if he lobs the 1-1 or a pair further back in the running line he’ll be rattling home. Rated Price – $4.40

The best maiden in TAS lines up here in NEEDS REMEMBERING. He finally gets a soft draw, and is a deserved favourite. I just can’t get him as short as the market but would be keen to save on him, if he drifts out. Rated Price – $3.00

Back SOUTHERN WIND for 1 unit WIN at $5.00+

R4 1650m Class 1

This is a horrid race, but one stands out like dogs balls in RIGHT HOOK. Comes off a slick maiden win where he put them away sitting on speed, can win again here. He’s been backed in early but I still think there’s some meat in the price to have a crack. Rated Price – $2.80.

R6 1150m Class 3

Race of the day. Lots of fresh performers line up here. Price will determine my bets here.

VETLANDA deserves to be favourite here, she looks to have come back super, and was heavily backed before scratched at the barriers last start. If her manners are on the mark, she’s the one to beat. Rated Price – $3.00

I have a huge amount of time for CDL. Flies fresh. I think he’ll land in in a beautiful spot behind the speed, and at an each way price looks a big danger to the favourite. Senior rider straight on. Happy to play. Rated Price – $4.60

JAGUAR STONE could well be the best horse in the race, but I’m just not convinced she’ll be wound up for this 1st up. Trials coming in don’t look as good as debut prep – could want to step out in trip this time in?! If the speed goes on, will be the one coming late if she’s fully fit. Rated Price – $5.50

DAY PERFORMER comes down from QLD, with some decent enough form. These horses have been great betting propositions 1st up in TAS but  Siggy Carr’s yard has really been struggling of late, not sure I’ll be diving in despite looking a big price. A chance at big odds. Rated Price – $15.00

Back VETLANDA for 1 unit WIN at $3.20+

Back JAGUAR STONE for 0.5 units WIN at $5.50+

Back DAY PERFORMER for 0.2 units WIN at $20.00+

Hard race. At current prices I’ll be playing around GG SO TRUE. Got every last favour last start and was able to win. Gets a tougher draw here vs previous rivals and a negative weight swing this time. Rated Price – $7.00

ZOUSTORM comes over from Adelaide, and has been more than competitive against some better opposition in similar graded races. Hard to line up, but looks a big price for a horse that looks to get a soft grip. Rated Price – $20.00

Pretty weak race here and thought NEEDS TOASTING was the one to beat. Should sit in behind the leaders and be running home well. Went super in a strong race behind Alpine Blast who has since won again up in grade – looks to have come back better this prep. KEEN. Rated Price $2.20
