This four-year-old Free Eagle mare trained by Tony & Calvin McEvoy has a win and a place from three starts. She lost a plate and didn’t come on as expected when 2.9 lengths 4th over 1200m at Morphettville on 2 November, then she improved from the turn and did enough late for a 0.4 length win over 1050m at Balaklava on 24 November. Beautifully placed and should win.

Free Of Sin (Balaklava Race 5 No. 8):
This four-year-old Keep the Faith mare trained by Chris Bieg has two wins and six places from 19 starts. She was held up from the 400-200m then battled on for 2.4 lengths 6th over 1400m at Morphettville on 13 November, then was making good ground before being tightened for room in the final 25m and finishing 1.2 lengths 3rd over 1200m at Clare on 21 November. Up in distance and looks a nice each-way chance.

Melody Shine (Balaklava Race 2 No. 10):
This three-year-old So You Think filly trained by Jon O’Connor is the early favourite in this 3YO & Up maiden plate over 1600m. She worked home strongly making good ground in the final 175m for 2.3 lengths 4th over 1200m at Gawler on 4 November, then started as favourite and made some ground for 2.8 length 4th over 1400m at Balaklava on 24 November. This looks no easier and she offers no value.
