Our Balaklava Racing Tips for Wednesday’s meeting.

Sanbuck  (Balaklava Race 5 No. 4)
This four-year-old Reward For Effort gelding trained by Byron Cozamanis has two wins and nine places from 21 starts. He was held up from the turn to the 200m and just battled evenly once clear for 3.1 lengths 5th over 1100m at Strathalbyn on 26 May, then drove through to lead on the rails and kept going for a 2.3 length win over 1100m at Gawler on a soft track on 16 June. That was a dominant win and a repeat of that effort would see him win here.

How to pick a winner

Each Way

Turf Tapper (Balaklava Race 7 No. 4):
This seven-year-old gelding has six wins and 11 places from 48 starts and has two wins over this distance. He sat off the pace before peeling wide between runners to chase solidly and just miss for 0.5 length 2nd over 1100m at Strathalbyn on 26 May, then he never looked likely when 8.7 lengths 7th over 1100m at Gawler on 16 June. He has the speed toovercome the wide barrier draw and might appreciate the extra distance at this stage of his preparation. He is worth an each-way wager.

Best Lay

Zeppa (Balaklava Race 8 No. 4):
This three-year-old Foxwedge gelding trained by Tony McEvoy is the early favourite in this BM 58 handicap over 1609m. He battled steadily for 4.9 lengths 7th over 1500m at Bendigo on 16 May, then ran on strongly from 12th to make good ground in the final 200m and finish 3.1 lengths 2nd over 1800m at Murray Bridge on 13 June. He has only won one of his 11 starts and I’m prepared to risk him.

Concede $3.00 is around the right price and wouldn't want much shorter but he has a brilliant record and looks well placed here. $2.90

Our Kembla Grange Tips for Friday's meeting. Key Comments The feature is the $250,000 Kembla Grange Classic (race 8). The best bet is in race 4 and looks very well suited with a drop in grade. Best Bet Media World (Kembla Grange Race 4 No. 14) Media World has a very hard draw to overcome but was 4 lengths off Eneeza on debut and that is superb form for this. Well placed to get the debut win out of the way but

Our Launceston Horse Racing Tips for Friday. The track is a Good 4 and the rail is true for the evening meeting. As a general rule, runners who land in the front half of the field are suited at this track, with an advantage to those who find the inside lanes in the straight. Best Bet Elegantly Written (Launceston Race 3 No. 11) She was crowded at the start and raced wide without cover in the back half of the field before descending
