Our Balaklava Racing Tips for Wednesday’s meeting.

Funckia  (Balaklava Race 10 No. 9)
This five-year-old Fiorente mare trained by Jake Stephens at Victor Harbor has one win and two places from five starts. She kept chasing gamely and drove hard to just miss when a close 2nd over 1600m at Strathalbyn on 26 May, then after a seven week let-up she took over at the 300m and won by 2 lengths in a 1600m maiden plate at Murray Bridge on 14 July. That was a nice win and she can go on with it now.

How to pick a winner

Each Way

Wynter Lady (Balaklava Race 9 No. 11):
This four-year-old mare trained by Roslyn Day has one win and two places from eight starts. After winning a maiden at Penola on 30 May, she winded right out for 10.7 lengths 10th over 1500m at Gawler on 16 June, then she got very close for 0.1 length 2nd over 1400m at Murray Bridge on 14 July. Justin Potter retains the ride and she looks a nice each-way chance.

Sharply Attired (Balaklava Race 8 No. 8):
This four-year-old Epaulette mare trained by John Macmillan is the early favourite in this BM 54 handicap over 1300m. She was found to be lame when 7.2 lengths 9th over 1350m at Strathalbyn on 31 January, then was winded out when 6.5 lengths 12th over 1200m at Murray Bridge on 14 July. I rate others above her and don’t think she will win.

Our Sandown Hillside Horse Racing Tips for Wednesday’s meeting. Key Comments The rail is in the true position. The best bet resumes off a break and showed plenty of determination to win from a hopeless spot last start. Best Bet The Autumn Belle (Sandown Hillside Race 4 No. 10) Sticking with her after a brilliant finale when rattling home from a tough spot. Barrier 2 and Damian Lane are both ideal for this race and she will take some beating despite jumping back in trip.

Our Warwick Farm Tips for Wednesday's meeting. Key Comments The rail is in the true position. The best bet gets a drop in class, kind draw and J-Mac hoping aboard. Plenty to like about its chances. Best Bet Etna Rosso (Warwick Farm Race 4 No. 1) Liked the last start run when not having much luck behind an in form bunch of runners. The form has been franked since and was scratched from the weekend in preference for this. With J-Mac aboard and the

Our Launceston Horse Racing Tips for Wednesday. The evening meeting has 9 races with the first at 5.36pm. The track is a Soft 5 and the rail is +8 metres from the 1200m to the winning post and +6 metres for the remainder. As a general rule, runners who land in the front half of the field are suited at this track, with an advantage to those who find the inside lanes in the straight. David Pires has some good rides.
