This five-year-old Criterion gelding has has 21 starts and only won once. However I feel confident he is close to win number 2. Last start he drove through to lead narrowly on the rails and looked home before tiring late and finishing 0.7 length 2nd over 1300m at Balaklava on 12 October. He drops back to 1200m here and looks beautifully placed.

Enzed Beer (Strathalbyn Race 7 No. 1)
This seven-year-old is running well with 2 wins and a 2nd from his last three starts. He was gathered in late for 0.2 length 2nd over 1430m at Naracoorte on 25 September, then took over at the 200m and dug deep to hold on for a 0.5 length win over 1300m at Penola on 9 October. Gets a 3kg claim and looks a nice each-way bet.

Tequila Sunset (Strathalbyn Race 2 No. 9)
This four-year-old Reward for Effort mare is the early favourite in this 3YOs and upwards Fillies & Mares Maiden Plate over 1200m. She covered extra ground then didn’t come on in the straight when 4.8 lengths 4th over 1100m at Gawler on 3 October, then got to the front but was gathered in for 1.4 lengths 3rd over 1250m at Morphettville Parks on 15 October. Looks a place hope but don’t think she will win.
