Our Strathalbyn Racing Tips for Wednesdays meeting.

Koruto  (Strathalbyn Race 1 No. 5)
This three-year-old Written Tycoon gelding trained by Phillip Stokes has had three places from three runs this campaign. He chased hard the entire straight to finish 0.1, 0.1 lengths 3rd over 1200m at Pakenham Park on 25 February, then finished 2, 0.4 lengths 3rd over 1114m at Werribee on 4 March. He has drawn the inside barrier and with Kayla Crowther riding he is ready to break his maiden and win this race.

How to pick a winner

Each Way

Wicked Scandal (Strathalbyn Race 7 No. 8):
This four-year-old Canford Cliffs mare has one wins and four places from 14 starts. She was checked and weakened out in the final 50m when 6 lengths 7th over 1215m at Kingscote on 18 February, then was back in 11th and ran on strongly between runners for a close 0.05, 0.05 length 3rd over 1200m at Murray Bridge. She ran a very close 2nd at her only other start at this track when she clearly should have won, and looks a nice each-way bet.

Best Lay

Grey Vitality (Strathalbyn Race 6 No. 10):
This grey three-year-old filly is the early favourite in this Class 1 handicap over 1200m. She led most of the way to win a maiden plate by 0.8 lengths over 1500m at Morphettville on 18 December, then was running 2nd until dropping out in the straight where the rider felt she was sore for 10 lengths 11th over 1505m at Gawler on 2 January. She returns after an 11 week let-up and is up against four last-start winners
