How to pick a winner

Each Way

Longmire (Penola Race 6 No. 6):
This six-year-old Snitzel gelding has six wins and eight places from 32 starts, and has two wins and a place from his last three starts. He took over at the 100m and held on for a 0.5 length win over 1200m at Bordertown on 6 January, then drove through to share the lead at the 125m but was unable to go with the winner and finished 0.6 lengths 2nd over 1200m at Naracoorte on 7 February. He gets a 3kg claim and is worth an each-way bet.

Best Lay

Wild Willy (Penola Race 5 No. 6):
This three-year-old Atomic gelding is the early favourite in this Class 2 handicap over 1100m. He has only started twice, finishing 3.5 lengths 5th over 1000m at Naracoorte on 7 February, then he won a maiden handicap by 0.6 length over 1100m at Penola on 13 October. This is the same track and distance but he will find this Class 2 a lot tougher than the maiden win.
