Our Strathalbyn Racing Tips for Wednesday’s meeting.

Inspired Sun (Strathalbyn Race 7 No. 1)
This five-year-old goes super well at this track. He was far too good for the rest winning by 3.2 lengths over 1200m at Strathalbyn on 9 March, before coming from last to grab 2nd over 1100m at Oakbank on 30 March. He has raced at this track and distance three times for 2nd then two wins and should get back in the winners stall again.

How to pick a winner

Each Way

Neva Doubt Us (Strathalbyn Race 5 No. 4):
This eight-year-old Not a Single Doubt gelding trained by Grant Young at Murray Bridge has 10 wins and 13 places from 55 starts. He came from well back last in the field of 11 to work home solidly late for 3.8 lengths 3rd over 1950 at Morphettville Parks on 26 March, then came from last again to work home well for 2.1 lengths 5th over 1800m at Morphettville on 2 April. The extra distance should suit his racing pattern and he looks a nice each-way chance.

Best Lay

In The Darkness (Strathalbyn Race 6 No. 5):
This three-year-old Proisir filly trained by Michael Hickmott is the early favourite in this BM 54 Handicap over 1600m. She got tired in the final 250m and finished 9.6 lengths 11th over 1600m at Murray Bridge on 5 March, then was never really sighted when 12 lengths 12th in the Listed Clare Lindop Stakes over 1600m at Morphettville Parks on 26 March. This is a big drop in grade but she is no good thing and other runners offer better value.
