This four-year-old Nicconi mare has one win and four places from her seven starts. She was slowly away and battled on steadily for 7.5 lengths 3rd over 1000m at Pakenham on 22 June, then came from the back half of the field and chased solidly to claim the leader late for a 0.5 length win over 1050m at Balaklava on 28 July. Now she has won a maiden race she can go on with it and rates highly.

This seven-year-old grey mare trained by Ron Campell at Gawler has 11 wins and 11 places from 59 starts. She battled away for 2.3 lengths 4th over 1050m at Balaklava on 30 June, then she chased strongly to hit the lead at the 100m and fought hard to hold on for a 0.3 length win on a heavy track over 1100m at Gawler on 29 July. Is a good each-way chance on her home track.

Call Me Dexter (Gawler Race 5 No. 5):
This six-year-old Ambidexter gelding trained by Graham Fryer at Gawler is the early favourite in this BM 56 Hndicap over 1522m. He was well beaten when 4.6 lengths 2nd over 1500m at Gawler on 10 July, but beat the rest by a big margin, then chased strongly making good ground in the final 175m but just missed for 0.4 length 2nd over 1706m at Gawler on 29 July. The drop in distance may not suit and he offers no value.
