Our Port Lincoln Racing Tips for Wednesdays meeting.

Grinzinger Star  (Port Lincoln Race 7 No. 1)
This six-year-old Reliable Man gelding trained by Kylie Mckerlie has had 37 starts for seven wins and 11 places. He finished 2.6 lengths 3rd in the Port Lincoln Cup over 1960m on 4 March, which was his 3rd consecutive place at the track, then was an 8 length winner of the Streaky Bay Cup over 1800m on 26 March. The 4 kg claim will help and he rates highly.

How to pick a winner

Each Way

Justica (Port Lincoln Race 3 No. 4):
This five-year-old Barbados mare trained by Brian Clarke has seven wins and eight places from 25 starts. She ran on strongly from well back in the field to finish 1.4 lengths 5th over 1350m at Port Lincoln on 20 February where she was powerful through the line, then she got well back again before finishing 1.4 lengths 3rd over 1350m at Port Lincoln on 4 March. Six of her seven starts were at this track. Looks a nice each-way chance.

Best Lay

Star Parfait (Port Lincoln Race 4 No. 3):
This six-year-old Star Witness mare trained by John Dunn & Krystal Bishop is the early favourite in this 0-56 Handicap over 1000m. She chased gamely for 1.3 lengths 2nd over 1000m at Port Lincoln on 20 February, then faded in the straight for 8 lengths 8th over 1000m at Port Lincoln on 20 March where she was vetted and no abnormalities were found. Not sure she is at her best and I’m prepared to risk her here.
