This four-year-old Valentia gelding trained by Richard & Chantelle Jolly has two wins and a place from four starts. At the end of last campaign he won by 2.6 lengths over 1300m at Morphettville Parks on 19 March, then was spelled for 18 weeks. He resumed for 4.8 lengths 6th over 1250m at Morphettville Parks on 23 July where he went to hard up front early and weakened out late. Should lead from the inside gate and be very hard to beat.

Chevite (Balaklava Race 6 No. 3)
This seven-year-old gelding trained by Michael McClean at Gawler has won at this distance before. He drifted back and finished 14 lengths last over 1100m at Gawler where his run was too bad to be true and something must have gone amiss, then he kept chasing gamely in the straight for 1.6 lengths 4th over 1050m at Balaklava on 27 July. Likes soft going and looks a nice each-way chance.

Good Approach (Balaklava Race 7 No. 3)
This four-year-old Dawn Approach gelding is the early favourite in this 0-58 Handicap over 1400m. He started favourite and finished 4.5 lengths 6th over 1100m at Gawler on 20 July, then hit the line hard in a busy finish for 0.9 length 5th over 1200m at Murray Bridge on 29 July. Up in weight and distance and others have better chances.
