Phillip Stokes trains this two-year-old Merchant Navy filly. She has only had one race start where she led all the way and kept kicking for a 1.1 length win over 1100m at Gawler on 22 January. She’s drawn the inside barrier and is the leading hope.

This four-year-old Unencumbered gelding trained by Stuart Padman at Murray Bridge has three wins and two place from 11 starts. He got to the lead but was gathered in late for a length 2nd over 1350m at Strathalbyn on 29 December, then led on the rails and kept going strongly for a 2 length win over 1300m at Penola on 13 January. Has genuine early speed and Paul Gatt is a bonus. He’s a nice each-way chance.

Hidden Legend (Morphettville Parks Race 5 No. 7):
This five-year-old gelding from the Will Clarken stable is the early favourite in this BM 76 Handicap over 1000m. When resuming from a 15 week spell he chased steadily for 2.5 lengths 6th over 1200m at Caulfield on 29 May, then just battled steadily for 6.3 lengths 11th over 1000m at Flemington on 19 June. Resumes here after 33 weeks and having his first start for Clarken. Prefer to see first-up.
