This four-year-old Reward for Effort gelding trained by Tony & Calvin McEvoy has five wins and four places from 15 starts. He led throughout for a 1.1 length win over 1200m at Morphettville on 18 September, then drew clear in the final 250m for a 2.9 length win over 1100m at Morphettville on 9 October.Has been winning by good margins and should bring up a hat-trick of wins here

Classy Joe (Morphettville Race 8 No. 5):
This seven-year-old Danerich gelding trained by John Hickmott & Carrina Riggs has nine wins and 13 places from 46 starts. He worked home solidly without threatening for 1.3 lengths 4th over 1550m at Morphettville Parks on 25 September, then wound up from the top of the straight and stormed home down the outside making good ground. Dived late but just missed out for 0.2 length 2nd over 1600m in the Murray Bridge Cup. Has a great record at this track and distance combination and looks a great each-way chance in the John Letts Cup.

Calypso Reign (Morphettville Race 9 No. 5):
This five-year-old Barbados gelding trained by David Jolly is the early favourite in this BM 76 Handicap over 1100m. At the end of last campaign he was never a contender when 3.1 lengths 8th over 1200m at Morphettville on 8 May, then was spelled. Resuming after 23 weeks he worked home solidly for 0.8 length 3rd over 1050m at Morphettville on 16 October. He was only won once from 12 outings at this track and I’m prepared to risk him here.

That will suit the best bet who loves racing here and comes up later in the day. Best Bet Flame Tree Star (Grafton Race 1 No. 1) Has a booming turn of foot and while Swanston doesn't have the easiest pattern to catch, this track does suit and that shows with the 9 placings
