Our Morphettville Horse Racing Tips for the weekend.

The feature race is the Listed W H Wylie Handicap (race 8).

Melody Man (Morphettville Race 6 No. 6)
This five-year-old Fiorente gelding trained by Jake Stephens at Victor Harbor has three wins and four places from nine starts. He came clear in the final 100m to win by 2.8 lengths over 1600m at Morphettville on 21 August, then won by a solid 3.2 length margin over 1950m at Morphettviille Parks on 4 September. Should be hard to beat.

Each Way

Lomax  (Morphettville Race 7 No. 3):
This five-year-old Host gelding trained by Bruce Potter at Strathalbyn has two wins and four places from 13 starts. He kept battling for 4.7 lengths 4th over 1400m at Murray Bridge on 7 August, then kept chasing gamely to grab the leader at the 50m and win by 1.5 lengths over 1550m at Morphettville Parks on 28 August. Racing well this campaign  and looks a good each-way chance.

Best Lay

Larkham (Morphettville Race 4 No. 6):
This five-year-old Sidestep gelding trained by Ryan Balfour has three wins and four places from 10 starts and is the early favourite in this BM 68 handicap over 1050m. Last campaign he finished with a 1.7 length win over 1000m at Morphettville Parks on 20 March, then resumed after 24 weeks for 1.3 lengths 3rd over 1000m at Morphettville Parks on 4 September. I expect him to place again, but not to win.
