This three-year-old Headwater gelding trained by Gary Duncan has two wins and four places from seven starts. On resuming from a 20 week spell he overhauled the leader in the final strides for a narrow win over 1000m at Sunshine Coast on 30 April, then fought on for 0.75, 0.4 length 3rd in the Darby McCarthy 3YO Plate over 1110m at Doomben on 22 May. Should win.

Paredo (Sunshine Coast Race 8 No. 3):
This three-year-old Better Than Ready filly has had two wins and two places from nine starts. Following a 16 week spell she battled on out wide for 4.15 lengths 9th in the Listed Mick Dittman 3YO Plate over 1110m at Doomben on 24 April, then only battled for 2.7 lengths 8th over 1350m at Doomben on 15 May. She has placed at both third-up starts and looks a nice each-way bet.

Redoubte’s Image (Sunshine Coast Race 7 No. 13):
This three-year-old Redoute’s Choice filly has one win and six places from 13 starts and is the early favourite in this Fillies & Mares Class 1 Plate over 1200m. At the end of last campaign she finished 7.6 lengths 11th in the $2M Magic Millions 3YO Guineas over 1400m at Gold Coast on 16 January, then she resumed for 3.66 lengths 9th over 1200m at Rosehill on 22 May. Her last run was disappointing and I’m prepared to risk her here.

Key Comments A big 10 race card takes place. The rail is in 3 metres. The track usually suits those who can sustain a long run to the line. That will suit the best bet who loves racing here and comes up later in the day. Best Bet Flame Tree Star (Grafton Race 1 No. 1) Has a booming turn of foot and while Swanston doesn't have the easiest pattern to catch, this track does suit and that shows with the 9 placings
