This four-year-old Better Than Ready mare has had four wins and two places from 10 starts. She led and was tackled at the top of the straight and boxed on for 4.1 lengths 5th over 900m at Gold Coast on 26 September, then was caught wide but ran on for 0.1, 0.3 lengths 3rd over 900m at Gold Coast on 3 October. She has had a nine week let-up and has won a trial at Toowoomba. Three of her wins have come first-up and she should be hard to beat.

She’s Rubicool (Ipswich Race 6 No. 5):
This four-year-old Rubick mare has a win and four places from nine starts. She resumed from a 16 week break for 5.8 lengths 2nd over 1200m at Ipswich on 11 November, then finished 1.5, 0.4 lengths 3rd over 1200m at Ipswich on 25 November. She won’t be far away and is worth an each-way bet.

Best Lay
Rebel Rock (Ipswich Race 4 No. 5):
This Rothesay gelding is the early favourite in this BM 70 handicap over 1680m. He fought on for 1.25 lengths 4th over 1350m at Doomben on 14 November, then was held up, hampered and not fully tested when 1.9 lengths 7th over 1350m at Ipswich on 25 November. He has started four times before at Ipswich without a win, and I am happy to risk him here.
