This five-year-old Husson gelding trained by David Vandyke at Tamworth has three wins and four places from eight starts. He was hampered at the start and always well back plus he lost a plate when 2.8 lengths 5th over 1200m at Doomben on 10 July, then he ran on best to win by 1.25 lengths over 1300m at Eagle Farm on 21 July. Should win again.

Hodgson (Eagle Farm Race 7 No. 9):
This three-year-old Hinchinbrook gelding has had six starts for one win. He was caught wide and wasn’t far away to finish a length 6th over 1350m at Ipswich on 19 June, then began well and led all the way for a 3.5 length win over 1400m at Gold Coast on 17 July to break his maiden. That was impressive and he rates a solid each-way chance.

Best Lay
Spokesman (Eagle Farm Race 5 No. 4):
This four-year-old Press Statement gelding has two wins and a place from 14 starts and is the early favourite in this Colts, Geldings and Entires BM 62 handicap over 1300m. He made some ground without threatening for 3.4 lengths 4th over 1600m at Eagle Farm on 10 March, then finished 2.25 lengths 5th over 1600m at Doomben on 31 March. Resumes here after 18 weeks but offers no value at the current price.
