Our Eagle Farm Horse Racing Tips for Wednesday’s meeting.

Auron (Eagle Farm Race 7 No. 1)
This three-year-old Savabeel gelding trained by Tony Gollan has one win and two places from five starts. He never looked likely when 11th over 1200m at Sunshine Coast on 23 May, then ran on well for 0.4 length 3rd over 1400m at Sunshine Coast on 9 Jun. This is easier and the extra distance should suit. Looks the likely winner.

Each Way

Petunia (Eagle Farm Race 8  No. 17):
This three-year-old Sebring filly has had 16 starts for two wins and five places. She was well back and got held up before running on out wide for 3rd over 1350m at Doomben on 26 May, then came from the back half of the field and ran on best out wide for a 0.2 length win over 1400m at Gold Coast on 12 June. She is going well this campaign and is a nice each-way bet.

Best Lay

Gin ‘n’ Bitters (Eagle Farm Race 6 No. 7):
This five-year-old Sebring mare has four wins and a place from 10 starts and is the early favourite in this BM 72 handicap over 1000m. At the end of last campaign she finished 2.6 lengths 5th over 1200m at Doomben on 19 December, then was spelled for 25 weeks. She resumed for 1.64 lengths 5th over 1100m at Kensington on 16 June first-up and has reasonable second-up statistics, but others offer better value.
