This five-year-old Golden Archer gelding trained by Billy Healey has three wins and one place from five starts. At the end of last campaign he held on for a 0.2 length win over 1400m at Sunshine Coast on 12 March then was spelled for 24 weeks. On resuming he ran on best to win by 0.1 length over 1110m at Doomben on 1 September. Will be hard to beat.

This four-year-old Zacinto mare trained by David Vandyke will be having her first race start in this fillies and mares maiden plate. She has had five trials, winning the latest over 1200m at Deagon on 7 September. Ryan Maloney has a strike rate of 38% for this trainer and she is ready to go first-up and is worth an each-way bet.

Makedon (Doomben Race 5 No. 2):
This five-year-old Real Saga gelding trained by Gary Duncan has two wins and seven places from 17 starts and is the early favourite in this Class 3 handicap over 1640m. He was outstayed in the final 150m to finish 2.9 lengths 4th over 1800m at Sunshine Coast on 29 August, then he hit the front at the 150m but couldn’t hold off the winner and finished 0.75 length 2nd over 1615m at Doomben on 11 September. Doesn’t win out of turn and others offer better value.
