This four-year-old Medaglia D’Oro gelding trained by Ricky Vale at North Rockhampton has five wins and four places from 16 starts. He led from the 800m to win by 1.75 lengths in a Class 6 handicap over 1400m at Rockhampton on 29 April, then led but was tackled at the top of the straight and fought on for 1.8 length 4th in the cup open handicap over 1600m at Rockhampton on 15 May. He has great form at this track and looks the one to beat.

Arzani (Rockhampton Race 6 No. 1):
This four-year-old Jimmy Choux gelding has one win and five places from 16 starts. He ran 2nd in three consecutive races before 2.45 lengths 4th over 1600m at Rockhampton on 13 January, then was 4.2 lengths 5th over 1560m at Mackay on 9 February. Resumes here after a 15 week spell and is having his first start for Jamie McConachy. Placed when trialling at this track and looks a good each-way chance.

Spirit Esprit (Rockhampton Race 7 No. 7):
This five-year-old Bel Esprit gelding trained by Garnett Taylor at the Sunshine Coast is the early favourite in this Class 6 Plate over 1400m. He finished 1.3 lengths 5th in a Class 4 over 1400m at Eagle Farm on 14 April, then was flatfooted at the start and only battled in the straight for 1.75, 1.25 lengths 3rd of 5 in a Class 6 over 1400m at Rockhampton on 29 April. Others offer better value.
