This two-year-old Statue Of Liberty filly trained by Ralph Baker at Gordonvale has two wins and a place from three starts. She fought hard to hold on for a 0.5 length win over 1000m at Townsville on 20 November before a 19 week spell. On resuming she was a narrow leader but coúldn’t hold off the winner late for 1.3 lengths 2nd over 1000m at Townsville on 8 April. She has good early speed and looks the likely winner.

October Storm (Cairns Race 5 No. 7):
This six-year-old October Sky gelding trained by Janel Ryan at Atherton has four wins and 12 places from 33 starts. He ran on for 2 lengths 6th over 1000m at Townsville on 8 April,, then raced up to hit the lead at the top of the straight and kept on going for a 0.2 length win over 1000m at Townsville on 6 May. Drops in weight and has placed three times out of five at this track and distance. Looks a good each-way bet.

Muzanboat Rouge (Cairns Race 1 No. 7):
This five-year-old Jet Spur gelding trained at the track is the early favourite in this maiden handicap over 1250m. He fought on for 1.3, 0.1 length 3rd over 1400m at Townsville on 29 March, then didn’t run on when 7.8 lengths 5th in a maiden handicap over 1400m at Townsville on 6 May. Likely to race near the speed in a race without much early pace, but am willing to risk this 16 start maiden.
