Our Sunshine Coast Horse Racing Tips for the weekend.
Weona Smartone (Sunshine Coast Race 5 No. 2)
Eight wins from nine starts make this five-year-old gelding trained by David Vandyke a formidable opponent. He was a 0.4 length winner of a Class 6 handicap over 1200m at Gold Coast on 18 September then returned from an 11 week break for a 0.2 length win in an open handicap over 1100m at Gold Coast on 4 December. Has two wins at this track and distance combination and can make it nine wins in a row.

Smart Meteor (Sunshine Coast Race 7 No. 3):
This five-year-old Smart Missile gelding trained by Chris Munce has five wins and 16 places from 36 starts. He was held up at the 550m and ran on strongly from well back in the field for 0.4 length 3rd over 1600m at Doomben on soft going on 26 December, then came from well back on the heavy track to win by 0.2 length over 2000m at Doomben on 1 January. Has four places from six runs at this track and looks a great each-way chance.

Wolf Moon (Sunshine Coast Race 1 No. 8):
This four-year-old Wandjina gelding trained by Billy Healey at the Sunshine Coast is the early favourite in this BM 72 handicap over 1400m. At the end of last campaign he finished 5 lengths 7th over 1680m at Ipswich on 3 May then was found to be sore in both front legs. Resuming after 35 weeks he led into the straight and was run down in the final stages for 0.4 length 2nd over 1200m at Sunshine Coast on 7 January. Goes up in distance and prefer to see.

Our Murray Bridge Horse Racing Tips for Wednesday's meeting. Key Comments The track is currently rated Soft 5 and the rail is +3 metres the entire circuit including the 1800m and 2000m chutes. Best Bet Startide (Murray Bridge Race 7 No. 4) Startide is first-up from a 21 week spell and was a close runner-up in an Open Trial at Gawler. She has good first-up form and has raced in stronger fields than this. Strong chance. $3.30

Our Wyong Tips for Wednesday's meeting. Key Comments The rail is in 3 metres. Expecting the best bet to kick off the day with a win on the back of a very strong second placing on debut. Best Bet Just Party (Wyong Race 1 No. 1) Just Party was left a sitting duck after doing too much early work but there was plenty of merit in the debut effort. Drawn kinder here, strips fitter and Tim Clark remains in the saddle. This

Our Kyneton Tips for Tuesday's meeting. Key Comments The rail is out 1 metre. Expecting those on speed to be suited with the small straight. The best bet looks nicely placed in a winnable race. Best Bet Capulet (Kyneton Race 8 No. 2) Racing well and looks the perfect chance to be in the winners stall again. Cartwright steers and he takes off a few kgs with the claim. This race is within reach and the price appeals. $2.80
