Our Doomben Horse Racing Tips for the weekend.
Merimee (Doomben Race 6 No. 2)
This three-year-old Winning Rupert filly trained by Chris Waller has three wins and two places from nine starts. Returning from a 14 week spell she fought on for 2.9 lengths 7th over 1350m at Doomben on 12 January, then came from well back to take over at the 150m and won by 2.3 lengths running away on the soft track over 1350m at Doomben on 5 February. That was impressive and she rates well.

Each Way
Boomnova (Doomben Race 8 No. 7):
This grey four-year-old Spirit of Boom mare trained by Chris Munce has three wins and six places from 12 starts. She led into the straight but couldn’t hold off the winner and finished 1.2 lengths 2nd over 1300m at Gold Coast on 15 January, then ran 1.7 lengths 2nd over 1110m at Doomben on 12 February. Has placed in four of five runs this campaign and looks a good each-way chance again.

Best Lay
Fortified (Doomben Race 2 No. 7):
This four-year-old Ocean Park gelding is the early favourite in this BM 78 handicap over 2200m. He kept chasing and had the best overall race sectionals when 1.7 lengths 2nd over 1900m at Canterbury on 28 January, then kept battling away on the soft track for 3 lengths 4th over 2400m at Randwick on 12 February. With an expected heavy track and some good mud runners in the field I’m prepared to risk him.

Our Murray Bridge Horse Racing Tips for Wednesday's meeting. Key Comments The track is currently rated Soft 5 and the rail is +3 metres the entire circuit including the 1800m and 2000m chutes. Best Bet Startide (Murray Bridge Race 7 No. 4) Startide is first-up from a 21 week spell and was a close runner-up in an Open Trial at Gawler. She has good first-up form and has raced in stronger fields than this. Strong chance. $3.30

Our Belmont Horse Racing Tips for Wednesday's meeting. The track is rated as a Good 4 and the rail is +8 metres the entire circuit. Best Bet Why Me (Belmont Race 7 No. 7) Why me chased strongly coming from near the tail of the field to win over 1600m at Albany to break his maiden status on 10th March. He's shown ability and looks capable of going on with it now. $2.15 Best Each

Our Wyong Tips for Wednesday's meeting. Key Comments The rail is in 3 metres. Expecting the best bet to kick off the day with a win on the back of a very strong second placing on debut. Best Bet Just Party (Wyong Race 1 No. 1) Just Party was left a sitting duck after doing too much early work but there was plenty of merit in the debut effort. Drawn kinder here, strips fitter and Tim Clark remains in the saddle. This

Our Kyneton Tips for Tuesday's meeting. Key Comments The rail is out 1 metre. Expecting those on speed to be suited with the small straight. The best bet looks nicely placed in a winnable race. Best Bet Capulet (Kyneton Race 8 No. 2) Racing well and looks the perfect chance to be in the winners stall again. Cartwright steers and he takes off a few kgs with the claim. This race is within reach and the price appeals. $2.80
