Axe (Doomben Race 9 No. 11)
This four-year-old Writen Tycoon gelding trained by Michael Costa has five wins and three places from 14 starts. He took over in the straight and drew away for a 3.5 length win over 1300m at Gold Coast on 17 April, then led until the 200m but was no match for the winner when 1.75 lengths 2nd on soft going over 1350m at Doomben on 24 April. Rates highly here and should win.

So You Win (Doomben Race 4 No. 6):
This six-year-old So You Think gelding trained by Chris Waller has placed at both starts this preparation. He blundered at the 100m and made some ground for 0.1, 1.75 lengths 3rd over 1400m at Eagle Farm on 17 April, then fought on for 1.25, 0.2 lengths 3rd over 1815m at Eagle Farm on 1 May He has excellent form at this track and looks a good each-way bet.

Giannis (Doomben Race 5 No. 4):
This two-year-old Flying Artie colt is the early favourite in the Group 2 Champagne Classic for 2YOs over 1200m. He debuted in the Group 3 Canonbury Stakes over 1100m at Rosehill where he raced greenly to finish 1.5 lengths 5th on 30 January, then he settled towards the rear and chased strongly for 4 lengths 3rd in the Pierro 2YO Plate over 1100m at Randwick on 13 February running the best last 800m race sectional. Resumes from a 13 week break and has trialled. With 5 last-start winners in the race I am prepared to work around him.
