Our Canterbury Horse Racing Tips for this Wednesday.
Reggiewood | (Canterbury Race 3 No.1)
I really love this blokes chance providing there is no leader bias on the day. He has had two starts in Australia since leaving Hong Kong and they have been his best in some time. He hit the line brilliantly first-up at a very unsuitable distance before heading to Kensington second-up over the 1800m. He did take a bit to get going as he is still looking for further but once he got into his gears, he easily put the field away. He ends up half a kilo better off for defeating rival Main Stage on the day though he has had two runs since. Our bloke has had a trial in between to tick him over and I don’t mind them going through the grades with him slightly up in distance. Jay Ford will need to be on his bike at the top of the final turn to be a chance because, at Canterbury, any later might be too late.

Norwegian Bliss | (Canterbury Race 7 No.12) / Gracilistyla | (Canterbury Race 7 No.10)
Both of these are heavy in the market with the next closest being double figures. We can back both to enhance our chances of profit.
From all reports I have been hearing, this girl is flying at home. Norwegian Bliss was unbeaten last preparation, slowly making her way through the grades, ending the preparation with a solid win over horses such as Grand Rumore and Fashchanel. Despite having one soft trial in the lead-up, she has been galloping well at home with some notable horses and she will be ready to go first-up. the heavy track does seem the slight query, but her two soft track runs last preparation indicate she may be fine, albeit it was in weaker company.
Gracilistyla was impressive last start at this track and distance, putting away an okay field by almost 1.5 lengths. Running second in the race was Diamil who had no luck in that run and has since come out and won impressively. I like that they have kept her at the same distance and just stepped him up in grade, and the in-form Hugh Bowman will continue to ride him. They are drawn to map similarly to last start, and with even luck, they will be in the finish once again.

Park Avenue (Canterbury Race 4 No.4)
This bloke is duel nommed for this race and the last, and if they stick to this race, I think they can run a cheeky race.
Last start at Canberra, he was tough right to the line but was over-run by a massive finish by Cavalier Charles. Before that, he has been running okay but not showing a lot but I have this strange feeling it might just change here. Tim Clark rode him at Canberra for the first time and is booked here again, but more noticeably, the blinkers are coming off for the first time since his debut run, which even though he won, wasn’t his best run in terms of ratings but it looked to be his best run in terms of the horse showing a turn-of-foot. I have noticed with the blinkers off, the horse was more of a grinder whereas his finish in his debut was fast.
I know, we can argue that on debut he was against maiden horse etc, but I think we might see a different horse with the blinkers back off and Tim Clark retaining. He should be able to camp off what looks to be a fast pace and run a cheeky race at a nice price.

Best Lay
Devils Triangle (Canterbury Race 4 No.10)
No prizes for laying this one at $4.00 but I think most of the short favourites will go close. I think she is based purely on her run behind Shelby Sixtysix in highway grade, and faces a tougher task here, as she won’t have the motor to get in a preferred position and get caught rearward at her first look at Canterbury.
Happy to go around her.
