Our Warwick Farm Horse Racing Tips for this Wednesday.
Arranmore | (Warwick Farm Race 8 No.10)
I really loved her fight first-up at Canterbury which was her first go on a heavy surface. She got held up at the 500m and lost a bit of momentum before peeling off them in the straight and getting clear. She had 3 lengths to makeup but she couldn’t bridge back the margin on the fit winner who had a much kinder run throughout. I love the draw for her here in the last, as it will likely play off the fence and the pace should be good enough for her to build some of her momentum off. Chris Waller is opting to put the pre-race earmuffs on her, which in the last 12 months has given him a 22.4% strike rate, winning 15 of the 67 times he has opted to put them on for the first time.
Going to play a touch more than usual on her with the likelihood of the scratching of her stablemate who is the second favourite.

Loch Eagle (Warwick Farm Race 5 No.8)
This gorgeous son of Lonhro was impressive on his first-up return, despite the fact it was just in maiden grade. Drawn the widest on the day, he did a bit of work early, sitting wide without cover before staying wide as he progressed to outside of the lead. They swung wide on the turn for the better ground and he took off, with jockey Hugh Bowman only having to use the whip once in the straight. There is no doubt this is harder but he has ticked off the heavy ground box and comes into this with a run under his belt. The draw won’t pose issues as he will likely stroll to the front group and they will likely shift off the inside entering the straight.
Any improvement from last start and he goes close again.

Main Stage (Warwick Farm Race 6 No.13) & Diamil (Warwick Farm Race 6 No.4)
With only a couple in the market, I don’t mind backing these two.
Main Stage is a bloke who is in some serious form. Two runs back he took it to Reggiewood at Kensington over the 1800m, finishing just over half a length in second before returning to the scene of the crime a fortnight later to salute in impressive fashion. He does prefer a dryer surface but he isn’t terrible with the sting out of the ground, and he makes his own luck on-pace, which there is a lack of pace engaged here. Drawn ideally to sit comfortably in the front 2 or 3, he will be in a prime position rounding the home turn and I don’t mind the step back to a mile with the unfortunate month between runs due to the weather.
Diamil is a deserved favourite on the back of his placing behind Gracilistyla at Canterbury. He was held up on the turn and entering the straight before getting clear and running home in some nice sectionals. The step up to a mile is a positive one and gets the pre-race earmuffs on for the first time. James McDonald sticks with him which is positive, he won’t mind the ground and the draw is perfect at this time of the day on a wet Warwick Farm.

Straight Aaron (Warwick Farm Race 5 No.7)
Logically, I have tipped one of the two that is hard in the market, so I am laying the other. He has no history on wet ground so there is that query, he is first-up despite having a solid trial, he has drawn the inside but generally likes to settle in the second half of the field and this is his first race start in the Sydney way of going.
With too many variables, I cannot take the price on offer.
