Our Scone Horse Racing Tips for the Sunday meeting. The feature race is race 7 and is the Newhaven Country Championship Wild Card Qualifier.

Edit (Scone Race 7 No. 9)

I concede the barrier is very tricky here for Edit but I have an enormous opinion of this one. He was extremely unlucky in the Kozi and then ripped home in splits similar to Eduardo when thrown into the deep end. His get back run on pattern makes things tricky and he also plays up in the gates so there are a few things against him, however, he has an outstanding turn of foot and I believe he could even be a potential group 1 horse in the future. All you need to do is go watch his replay at Tamworth first-up last prep and you can make a case that if he gets clean air in this race they won’t know which way he went. Big yes to this distance first up.

Akasaki (Scone Race 8 No. 4)

3 wins from 4 races at Scone. Akasaki isn’t getting any younger but it’s hard to deny its chances in this race. Barrier 4 will ensure the perfect run in transit and Aaron Bullock steers. This is an open race but the $7.50 appeals.

The Mystery Guy (Scone Race 4 No. 6)

Won well start but this is quite the step up in grade and I would want a better price to get involved.  There are some handy types involved in this race and I think the early $2.30 is a touch on the short side.
