The predicted heavy track should suit Shelby Sixtysix perfectly. His statistics on heavy going are eight starts for four wins and three places. The time he didn’t make the trifecta was when he was found to be lame after running 7th in the Group 1 T J Smith Stakes on 2 April. He’s drawn the outside barrier but at his best can win this.

Great House (Gosford Race 7 No. 2)
This six-year-old Galileo gelding from the Chris Waller stable is the early favourite in the Gosford Gold Cup over 2080m. He battled away for 2.2 lengths 3rd in the Group 3 Sky High Stakes on heavy going on 12 March, then was never really clear when 6.9 lengths 8th in the Group 2 Chairmans Quality Handicap on 2 April. He appears to handle soft going but not heavy, and doesn’t offer value.
