Andermatt (Scone Race 7 No. 4)
Andermatt is a dual acceptor at Scone for this race and the Ortensia Stakes but is more likely to run in this. He has five wins from nine starts He won by over 6 lengths over 1200m at Canterbury on 6 April, then raced away for a 2.8 length in over 1100m at Randwick on 23 April. Both of those runs were on heavy tracks. Looks hard to beat.

American President (Scone Race 10 No. 12)
This three-year-old Starspangledbanner gelding has four wins and four places from 1o starts. He has won his last three races all on heavy track. At his latest start he came out to the outside fence for a 5.3 length win over 1200m at Randwick. Looks a great each-way chance at double-figure odds.

Best Lay
Never Talk (Scone Race 8 No. 8)
This four-year-old No Nay Never mare from the Kris Lees stable is the early favourite in the Dark Jewel Classic over 1400m. She was looking for a run straightening when 2.9 lengths 6th over 1400m at Randwick on 9 April on a Heavy 10 track, then raced tight in the concluding stages for 0.6 length 4th in the Hawkesbury Crown over 1300m on 30 April with the best last 600m. Has drawn very wide and I’m prepared to risk her here.
