Beauty Eternal (Sha Tin Race 9 No.9)
How impressive was this horse’s first-up on debut. He had drawn 14/14 and sat wide without cover over the entire trip pretty much and just exploded and put lengths on them, saluting in the end by 2.1 lengths in what was an eye-catching performance. What did assist him on the day was the pace of the race which was 5.3L above average.
Taking all that in, he has trialed since which is ideal, and comes into this nice and fit. I think he will handle the step up to Class 3 easily, especially at the weights, draw is much better, and he should get into a nice position and I expect a similar result by a similar margin.

Savvy Nine (Sha Tin Race 7 No.6)
This bloke ran massive in the Sha Tin Trophy. He didn’t have a clear run in the early part of the straight and he ran some tremendous late sectionals (could have been even better had the rider not dropped the whip around the 300m mark). They also found a minor laceration to his left hind heel which gives even more merit to his run to be fair.
He has placed almost 50% of his races over 1800m and although he has only won twice in 40 starts, I just can’t ignore his last start effort mixed with the ideal draw here and he maps to get the suck run, all we will need is some luck.
