Best Bet | Party Warrior (Happy Valley Race 6 No.8)
When I saw that Zac Purton was back on this horse, my eyes lit up and I just knew it would be a nice bet. He has been getting bad draws over his last two and still being competitive, finishing 0.75 length in fifth and then 0.31 length in second when running some nice sectionals in the second half of the race. The last time he drew this good, you guessed it, Zac Purton was riding (the only time he has ridden him to mind you). To give me more confidence, Purton has a 29% strike rate (9/31) when riding for this stable in the last 12 months. Expect a nice ride from the draw, sitting closer than last start, and with even luck, we should be collecting.

Dragon Pride (Happy Valley Race 3 No.7)
I have a feeling we will be talking about Zac Purton a lot again on Wednesday night as he has some tremendously good rides, and this is one of them. Now I know this is a Class 5 and they can be unbearable from a punting and form perspective, but Zac has got a ride on a horse that should be winning this. He gets a decent draw, he goes up to the 1650m and he gets Zac Purton, all ticks. He has been a different horse since changing stables, but he was also coming off a long break due to injury, so he just has this new lease on life. He is a big chance to get his second win this campaign.
Suggested bet: 1.5 units @ $2.25

Blissful Star (Happy Valley Race 5 No.5)
This Power gelding is making his comeback to racing after hurting himself in May last year and I strongly believe that if Luke Currie wasn’t injured, Zac Purton would have ridden this bloke, as he has ridden him in every trial and race to date. His two trials over 1050m and 1200m were very good and the comments around have stated that he moved better than he did before being injured. He is drawn well to sit off a nice pace and I reckon he is a nice bet for a horse that clearly has a little bit of ability there.

Spicy Grill (Happy Valley Race 7 No.5)
This is another bet who has been ultra-consistent this preparation and looks likely to continue down that path with luck on his side. The Pierro gelding flew home from last two back when Karis Teetan rode for luck up the centre and managed to get to the leader in the shadows of the post before last start going around them from last to narrowly miss by under half a length. He has been consistently running quick time over the final 800m and I expect this to be no different. He is drawn ideally in barrier one and Teetan will have the big decision to make whether to ride for luck, go around or attempt to ride him closer in the run which has been done in the past to success. Either way, watch for him late.
