Island Surprise (Happy Valley Race 5 No.6)
This son of Sweynesse is having his first start in Class 5 following some decent displays in much harder races. He has run some solid races around horses like Packing Treadmill, Fun N Glory, and Eternal Bloom, which is more than good enough for a race of this quality. He has drawn nicely in barrier 5 and should settle in the second half of the field before angling to the centre of the track. With Zac Purton aboard, I am expecting a solid ride, and if the horse is good enough, he should be thereabouts.

Drops of God (Happy Valley Race 7 No.2)
This is a wide-open race and I think John Size has pulled some strings for him to win here. He trialled well with blinkers on but made his season debut without blinkers 10 days ago when running a distant twelfth when running wide without cover. The blinkers go back on here and so does the man who trialled him with the blinkers in Zac Purton. He has drawn nicely and should sit prominently throughout, so I expect him to be in the finish.

That will suit the best bet who loves racing here and comes up later in the day. Best Bet Flame Tree Star (Grafton Race 1 No. 1) Has a booming turn of foot and while Swanston doesn't have the easiest pattern to catch, this track does suit and that shows with the 9 placings
