Viva Mama | (Happy Valley Race 5 No.12)
Going to stick with this Dream Ahead gelding as he looks to make it three in a row. Two back he had drawn well, stalked the leader before streaking away with a 0.75 of a length win before returning to the same track and distance with 3kg extra and saluting by 0.3 of a length. He goes up in grade but you can’t deny his form, and he gets the in-form Karis Teetan aboard, who should give him every chance from another ideal draw. There is a bit of pace engaged, so hopefully they keep their wits about them but at the price, definitely worth a chance.

Nearly Fine | (Happy Valley Race 7 No.6) / Ready Player One | (Happy Valley Race 7 No.8)
Nearly Fine was immaculate last start over the 1650m, coming from near last with a booming run to salute by just over 1.6 lengths. He was sectionally very good, running the third quickest final 400m of the entire meeting. He has since had a nice tick over trial and he finally gets to have a chance over 1800m. He won’t have to settle as far back here as he is drawn favourably in barrier six and Joao Moreira will be looking to enter his suspension with a slightly bigger gap in the jockey’s premiership. Despite being up in class, I think he is a solid chance. Ready Player One enters the frame on the back of a tremendous trial which he won convincingly with the blinkers on for the first time. He is drawn well, should sit in a favourable position and could be hard to beat.
