Horse Racing Tips : ACT Monday 13th March 2023

Our Canberra ACT Racing Tips for Monday’s meeting.

The feature races are the Canberra Guineas (race 6) and the Canberra Cup (race 7).

Best Bet

Wolverine (Canberra Race 6 No. 1)
This three-year-old filly ran 2nd in a Group 1 race in New Zealand last year, and was only 1.6 lengths behind the winner in the Group 1 Surround Stakes at her latest start. This is a huge drop in class. Serious player.

Each Way

Athabascan (Canberra Race 7 No. 6)
This 4YO has one win over this distance. At his second start back from a spell he ran 2.5 lengths 5th in the Listed Randwick City Stakes over 2000m on 4 March. Should be fitter after 2 outings and looks a nice each-way bet.

Best Lay

Unique Prince (Race 8 No. 10)

This 5YO gelding trained by Matthew Dale is the early favourite in this BM 75 Handicap over 1600m. He finished 6.8 lengths 2nd over 1300m at Wagga on 9 February, then was a length 2nd over 1300m at Goulbrn on 9 March. Not sure if he can handle the mile and the price offers no value.
