The Cox Plate and SIR DELIUS (3) has been set for this race and this race only for some time. Two runs back have been pass marks and while he was going a shade better at this stage in the Autumn his win in the QEII third-up posted a rating that the others will struggle to match. Gets a beautiful map, dry ground and a strong pace to aim at, he goes on top. AELIANA (10) does boast a 3-1 record over SIR DELIUS including last start in the G1 Turnbull Stakes where she finished hard to grab third. J-Mac goes on fourth up, she'll be tracking into it on the turn and letting rip. CEOLWULF (1) is flying. He backs up from chasing Autumn Glow last week. Ready for 2000m and like the draw where he'll have last say. BIRDMAN (6) was awesome winning the G1 Underwood two back and is a big chance if he gets back to that form - don't write him off. The 3yo's WARWOVEN (11) and BLIND RAISE (12) were both excellent in the Guineas, WARWOVEN could be special but BLIND RAISE was huge given the race shape.
Cosmic Crusader won the 2026 Cox Plate by ¾ of a length from Birdman, with Aeliana third.
