St Kilda v Geelong
Saturday 14/5/22 @ Docklands
Last 5 Encounters | St Kilda 0 | Geelong 5
Verdict
The twilight clash between Geelong and St Kilda on Saturday shapes as one of the matches of the round.
The Cats aren’t the easiest team to get a read on. They were very good on the road against Greater Western Sydney last week but have also been beaten as favourites in games against Hawthorn and Fremantle over the last month
The Saints were poor against Melbourne in the first half last week. They went away from their fast ball movement which has served them so well this season and this proved costly. Look for them to try and expose Geelong’s lack of leg speed by moving the ball much quicker.
Think St Kilda are value here.
Suggested Bet – 1 Unit St Kilda Win @ $2.21 (Sportsbet)
Sydney v Essendon
Saturday 14/5/22 @ SCG
Last 5 Encounters | Sydney 3 | Essendon 2
Verdict
After a strong start to season 2022, the Swans have dropped their last two matches at home to Brisbane and the Gold Coast.
They play their third consecutive home game in a row against Essendon who found something in the second half against the young Hawks to register their much needed second win of the season.
This has turned into a pretty important game for the Swans and I expect them to get the job done.
Suggested Bet – Sydney Win (Multis)
Adelaide v Brisbane
Saturday 14/5/22 @ Adelaide Oval
Last 5 Encounters | Adelaide 2 | Brisbane 3
Verdict
As it stands the Lions look the clear second seed (behind Melbourne) in the race for the 2022 premiership cup.
Key forward Eric Hipwood is set to return from an ACL injury and the timing could not be better after the Lions lost Daniel McStay with injury last week.
Expecting to see some resistance from the Crows at home, however Brisbane need to keep winning to ensure they secure a home qualifying final. It’s hard to see them dropping this one.
Suggested Bet – Brisbane Win (Multis)
West Coast v Melbourne
Sunday 15/5/22 @ Perth
Last 5 Encounters | West Coast 4 | Melbourne 1
Verdict
The struggling Eagles host the premiership favourites Melbourne in the final match of the round.
Coming off a strong four quarter performance against the Saints last week I’m not sure how strong the motivation will be for the Demons to do a “number” on the Eagles which is what is required to cover the 60 point line.
The angle I want to play here is the West Coast total points market. The Eagles are yet to score over 60 points against a top 8 team this year and now come up against the best defence in the AFL.
Suggested Bet – West Coast Total Points Under 60 (Multis)
