Verdict

The Gold Coast have produced a strong three weeks of footy.  They had good wins over Fremantle and Sydney before really challenging the Western Bulldogs in Ballarat last week.  They host the Hawks in Darwin on Saturday night – who are now with out a fit ruck man – which is of huge concern coming up against Jarrod Witts one of the better rucks in the comp.

Furthermore the Suns have proven themselves to be a quality wet weather side and I think that should serve them well in the humid and slippery conditions in Darwin.

Gold Coast should cover the line in this.

Multi

Lots of short priced favourites in the footy this week, and I’m pretty confident all of them will be winning.  A multi looks a solid play at close enough to even money.

Brisbane Lions v Greater Western Sydney Giants

Brisbane suffered a surprising loss to Hawthorn last week although coach Chris Fagan didn’t seem overly concerned.  Expect them to bounce back strongly on their home deck.

Geelong Cats v Adelaide Crows

The trip down the highway to Geelong is still one of the toughest trips in Footy.  Adelaide have been competitive this year but the experienced Cats will surely get this job done.

Melbourne Demons v Fremantle Dockers

Some are blaming wet conditions for Fremantle’s back to back losses – I’m not so sure and neither is Justin Longmuir who suggested the Dockers were getting ahead of themselves.  Can’t see them challenging Melbourne here after the fortnight they have had.

St Kilda Saints v North Melbourne Kangaroos

North stuck with Melbourne for three quarters but were blown out of the water in the last quarter once Melbourne clicked into gear.  This is a game St Kilda should win comfortably.

West Coast Eagles v Western Bulldogs

West Coast resemble a VFL club at the moment.  The Western Bulldogs will get this job done, its just a question by how much.

Port Adelaide Power v Essendon Bombers

Port Adelaide have found their mojo.  Essendon is very much hunting for theirs.  This could get ugly for the Bombers in Adelaide.
