Australian Open
The Australian Open Championship headlines the week a mixed event played on two of the best courses in the world, Kingston Heath, and Victoria designed by the master Alistair Mackenzie and faithfully upgraded by Michael Clayton and Ogilvie, Cocking, Mead, the Victoria course, 6278m (6895 yards) par 72, slope 113, course rating 70 and the Kingston Heath Club, 6352 m (6982 yards) par 72 with an identical course rating of 70 and a slope of 110. These figures may not be agreed with by the players after firm greens and nor westers.
Cam Smith is the logical favourite, but take $3.75 at your peril, he got through last week, but wasn’t at his best.
