Aztec Ruler | (Belmont Race 1 No.1)
As I am writing this, the son of Universal Ruler has been backed in from $2.40 to the price below. I loved his debut run here over the 1000m a fortnight ago, where he came with a blistering run to salute by almost half a length over Revitup. Despite going up 2kg from that win, he gets an extra 200m which is ideal for him, and from the draw, he should be able to settle nicely again in midfield. This isn’t a deep field, so I expect him to put these away with ease.

Shake The Bloom | (Belmont Race 9 No.9)
If it wasn’t for the poor draw last time out, this Sessions mare would have gone close to making it three wins in a row. She, unfortunately, drew the outside barrier and had to drop back, but came with a massive run to finish 1.3 lengths off the winner in fourth. She meets that runner 2kg better off from that run and she has drawn much better than last start also. The mare should be peaking in fitness following three runs at a mile, and with even luck, she should be in the finish once again.
