Glacier Queen | (Randwick-Kensington Race 8 No.7)
Happy to stick with this Vancouver filly as she steps out of maiden grade for the first time. She over-raced two runs ago at Warwick Farm but still ran some good sectionals home when a 3.3 length third to Pretty Wild, who has since run well in Saturday grade. Last start on a much kinder surface, Hugh Bowman put her into the race at the right time as she streaked away with a 1.3 length win over the 1200m, again running some nice sectionals. She has drawn nicely, retains Hugh Bowman who has only ridden for David Pfieffer four times in the last 12 months for three wins and gets to tackle just the fillies and mares whilst up in grade. I think she is a terrific each-way chance, especially for a filly who was a length off the Typhoon Tracy Stakes winner Hellfast at her second race start.

Resuming for her second preparation is this Hellbent filly who is entered for her easiest race to date. Her debut run was sound in the Ballarat 2yo Classic before she tackled the Magic Millions Wyong 2yo Classic, where she was a touch slow out and had to come from the second half of the field, which isn’t ideal at Wyong. She ran a credible 2.1 length sixth in the race before being sent for a spell. She has since trialled twice with her latest being very impressive, under the hands of Sam Clipperton. He rides her race and day like the trial, she will have the blinkers back off. She has drawn a nice gate for Sam to do as he pleases, and I think she is a terrific chance to run a big race.
