Buzzoom | (Ascot Race 7 No.8)

Everything has been set up nicely for this girl to win this race. She meets her main rival Amasenus 1.5kg better off for the narrow defeat last start and she gets to step up to 1400m again, which she will relish. She may have to settle one pair further back than last start but I am sure Chris Parnham will sort it out. I am expecting a bold run once again and for her to go one better than last time out.

Warm N Fuzzy | (Ascot Race 1 No.4)

I am all over the chances of the I’m All The Talk gelding following a peak first-up run last time out at Ascot. Despite being back 200m to the 1000m, he has drawn ideally to get a sweet run throughout and it gives me plenty of confidence that Chris Parnham has stuck with him. This isn’t a deep race so I expect a good run.

The Velvet Queen | (Ascot Race 9 No.11)

I want to take her on first-up from a draw which will see her on the rail, at least four pairs back. 1400m for her first run back might be a bit much considering how much she may have to do and I am happy to watch her go around at the price.

Top of the Pops | (Ascot Race 2 No.2)

Ths son of Spirit of Boom is going for back-to-back victories after his 1.8 length win at Pinjarra last start. Despite being eased near the 600m mark, he was much too good for his opposition. He again has a favourable draw up in grade and a positive jockey change to Chris Parnham will hold the connection in high hope. When Parnham and Morton have teamed up, their strike rate over the last 12 months is a whopping 30.9%, winning 55 out of 178 rides!

Success Play | (Ascot Race 3 No.4) / Hardly Ever | (Ascot Race 3 No.7)

Success Play was unlucky not to finish closer but still ran a bold race whilst travelling wide without cover for the majority of the race. Lucy Warwick ended up getting him to fourth, 2.6 lengths off the winner. The pre-race earmuffs go on and the positive jockey change to Parnham mixed with the ideal draw should put him in the pointy end of the race. There looks to be no speed so he should get a gun run back to 1200m. Hardly Ever arguably should have won last start but had to settle for a 0.6 length third after copping interference in the straight. The step up to 1200m looks ideal and the draw is manageable due to the pace, so I expect some nice improvement and for her to be in the finish once again.

Kia Ora Star | (Ascot Race 8 No.1) / Otheroneson| (Ascot Race 8 No.6)

Kia Ora Star ended up on top for me here due to a few factors working in the eight-year-olds favour. He gets a vital 3kg claim for Jett Stanley who has ridden him before, he is drawn perfectly to head to the front in a race where he gets to control proceedings and he gets unbelievably gets a 1.5kg swing on Otheroneson despite beating him last start. He is going to be the one to catch. Otheroneson goes in as cover as he should have won last start and should get a much better run in transit, which could rule the weight swing out if he can settle that little bit closer. The mile should suit and he will be a deserved favourite.
